In Cognos Analytics 11 (in either 11.0.x or 11.1.x) you may discover that you have what I like to call the “Cognos Analytics Dashboard scroll problem”. This is when you build a dashboard with the default dashboard properties and find that you are not able to view your entire dashboard on your screen. The width is correctly set but the height is not and to see the entire dashboard you must scroll down to see it all. If you click on the full screen view you can see it in one screen but otherwise you must scroll.
As dashboard reports are intended to be a single screen view this is problematic. Fortunately there is a super simple fix!
The problem has to do with the aspect ratio of your dashboard. The default size is Screen 16:9. If you are finding that you must constantly scroll down in your dashboard, try changing the page size on the properties of your dashboard to Screen 4:3. There are many other choices in this selection, including Custom, Letter, Legal, A4, Tabloid and Infographic. You may need to experiment to see what works best for your screen display.
